Weekend Fun

This Saturday Marty had soccer, so Everleigh and I checked out the other area international school's Autumn Festival. It was just right for her - games, food, face painting, balloon animals, treats, and prizes. The only drawback was that it was during her nap time. On the plus side, that meant she was too tired to run around. The downside was that she wanted to be carried a lot, and at nearly 30 pounds, she isn't so easy to hold anymore. I definitely got an arm workout! After an hour and a half of fun, we headed home and Evs conked out before we made the 10 minute bike ride.

Saturday night our friends invited us over for a cookout. I attempted to make buffalo chicken dip. It only cost about $25 to get all the necessary ingredients (yikes!) and I accidentally got salmon cream cheese instead of plain. It turned out okay, but it's definitely a once in awhile special treat at that price! We brought Everleigh along and she and our friend Kristen bonded over Charlie Brown. : )

entranced...  ; )
Today I met with a couple of my teammates at a local coffee shop to get some report card writing done. 5 1/2 hours later, I finished three subjects (with three still to go). It's a pretty inconvenient time to not be able to drink. ; )

This afternoon we had a little family day at the salon. Mart was in need of a haircut and we decided it was time to give Everleigh's hair a trim as well. She did really well with the shampooing part, but was a wiggle monster when it came time to cut. It's amazing the guy managed to cut it straight without lopping off an ear! ; )

her "princess" cape : )

Tomorrow we have our first field trip of the year. We're taking our kids to the Hong Kong Science Museum. Something you'd never have to deal with back home: stopping the bus at the border, getting all the kids off, and taking them all through customs and immigration. Fingers crossed we don't lose anyone's passport!
